Nexter Systems creates its new subdivision Nexter Robotics for counter mines and IEDs robots.
On October 22, 2012, Nexter Systems created Nexter Robotics, a new subsidiary wholly-owned by the Group. Nexter Robotics provides new solutions for the needs expressed both by France’s Armed Forces and friendly forces abroad for small-scale robots capable of performing reconnaissance and counter-IED (Improvised Explosive Devices) missions for route clearance, while also offering new applications for Civil Security units.

Nexter Robotics provides new solutions for the needs expressed both by France’s Armed Forces and friendly forces abroad for small-scale robots capable of performing reconnaissance and counter-IED (Improvised Explosive Devices) missions for route clearance, while also offering new applications for Civil Security units
The first product in the Nexter Robotics line, the NERVA LG robot, was unveiled last year at the EuroSatory 2012 trade show.

Both in France and abroad, working directly with customers and through its network of partners, Nexter Robotics is primarily focusing its activities on design, development, industrialization, production, commercialization and technical support for both land-based and air/land hybrid robotic systems, together with all the associated components and mission modules. Nexter can also provide tailor-made engineering solutions to incorporate robots in existing weapon systems and infrastructures, and is developing licensing agreements as part of its activities.

The products developed by Nexter Robotics have a direct impact on the protection of operational personnel, enabling them to project their sensory capabilities into danger zones without being directly exposed to threats. Human and operational capacities can be fully maintained for the most strategic missions. Nexter robots can also be designed as a natural extension of operational vehicles—in particular for military applications (remote viewing and remote-controlled actions to neutralize suspicious objects, etc.)— to provide a full range of built-in capabilities. The first product in the Nexter Robotics line, the NERVA LG robot, was unveiled last year at the EuroSatory 2012 trade show. Designed and built by Nexter Systems, NERVA LG will also be performing demonstrations at IDEX 2013.

The unique setup at Nexter Robotics makes the company extremely flexible and responsive. Working closely with the scientific community and robotics specialists through contractual agreements, Nexter can quickly integrate mature technological advances and pertinent technical solutions in its products.
