The robot features a trademarked two-wheel, single-axle design, plus aggressive wheels and a distinctive stabilizing tail that produce superior obstacle climbing ability. Dismounted military personnel will use the robot to conduct surveillance and search high-risk environments for adversaries, weapons caches and explosives. SWAT teams will use the XL to quickly gain video and audio reconnaissance during warrant-service operations, hostage rescues, barricaded subject callouts and remote inspections of suspected explosive devices.
