Armed forces of Chad takes delivery of the first Bastion Patsas light Special Operations vehicle. | |||
Chad’s
armed forces have recently taken delivery of the first eleven Bastion
Patsas out of a total order for 22 vehicles. The other eleven
Bastion Patsas will be delivered by the end of June 2013. This twelve
tonne armoured vehicle is intended to conduct patrols or raids in an extreme
climatic environment. ACMAT has made use of over fifty years of experience
in producing the legendary VLRA high endurance vehicle, designed for Special
Forces or response units. |

The Bastion
Patsas is thus able to carry five men with a full range
of equipment. It has a ring mount capable of mounting a 12.7 mm machine
gun, and three weapon stations (two at the rear and one at the front)
for light machine guns. The crew can rely on a high level of protection
against mines, together with armour elements on the sides of the vehicle
for protection against ballistic attack. |
