Renault Trucks Defense MIDS police vehicle

The MIDS - Security and Public Order Vehicle - is specially designed for public order and internal security missions. Offering a high degree of armored protection in its category, it carries up to 12 officers in an urban and rural setting.

With its powerful diesel engine and 4x2 or 4x4 driveline, the MIDS offers an excellent urban mobility.

Renault Trucks Defense Higuard

Renault Trucks Defense’s HIGUARD (MRAP) combines the excellent off-road mobility of the Sherpa Medium 6x6 tactical vehicle with the very high level of protection of its specially armoured cab (ballistic, mine and IED protection).

The HIGUARD (MRAP) is ideally suited for tactical missions such as troop transport in asymmetric combat areas. Its large volume and payload accommodates up to 12 soldiers with their equipments. The HIGUARD (MRAP) is also fitted for a roof mounted weapon system.

The Sherpa Light "Station Wagon" is fully armoured and ideally suited for various tactical missions such as protected patrol and internal security, for carrying weapon or mission systems like MBDA's MPCV for short range anti-aircraft defence. It is able to transport up to 5 soldiers and/or any weapon or mission system.

Acmat ALTV

The ALTV was the first military pick-up produced in France. Marketed since 2009, it has already sold over 500 units in two dozen countries.

This lightweight all-terrain vehicle is designed to provide great tactical mobility with a high maximum speed and exceptional off-road performance. The ALTV is motorized with a 190 HP engine enabling it to reach speeds of up to 160 km/h.

Available in single and double cab pick-up, Torpedo, Command Car, Check-Point and Station Wagon versions. In protected version, the ALTV can be fitted with ballistic and mine protection.

Panhard PVP

The PVP is a light protected vehicle manufactured by the French Company Panhard in the 5-ton armoured vehicle range. The French Army procured over 1 200 PVPs.

PVPs have a capacity of 4.5 m3, which enables them to have enough room to fit them out, either in the transport version or in the C2 (Command and Control) version. A system of rails set on the partitions enables to tailor the vehicle’s inner layout and to fasten pieces of equipment very easily. PVPs payload amounts to more than one ton.

A dozen different versions are already in use; it is possible to tailor them to the requirements of specialized units: traffic control units, engineer divers, EW, mine-clearing teams, drone remote-control teams, ambulance vehicles, etc…

PVPs have an outstanding mobility, among others owing to a weight / power ratio higher than 34 HPs per ton. PVPs – 5-ton class protected vehicles – are more easily controlled in built-up areas owing to their size, in comparison with their competitors.

The PVP’s ballistic protection was the purpose of quite advanced studies and tests. Its armour, composed in particular of steel and aluminium provides a level-2 (Stanag 4569) protection (corresponding to 7.62-mm ammunition), which is not usual with vehicles of such a weight. Care was also exercised to a large extent regarding the IED (Improvised Explosive Device) threat.

Panhard VBL

The VBL is 4x4 light tactical armoured vehicle weighing 4 tons in combat configuration and a maximum payload of 1,000 kg and a crew of three.

An outstanding mobility is one of VBLs’ many capabilities: fast, quite agile when moving off-road owing to an independent-wheel suspension; it is also amphibious, air-transportable, and air-droppable. In France, the contingency armoured echelon is mostly composed of VBLs. It enables airborne contingency forces to be equipped with armoured assets.

VBLs are being used by sixteen countries throughout the world, including in desert or mountainous areas. Many countries have procured VBLs for quite different aims: recce units, Presidential guard duties, or even for their SFs (Special Forces). The VBL community includes 16 different countries and there are more than 2 300 armoured vehicles in use.

A full range of weapon systems can be set onto VBLs, such as A2 (Anti-Armour) missiles (Kornet, Milan, TOW, INGWE) and AD (Air Defence) missiles (Mistral), or even remote-controlled machine-guns, such as the WASP developed by Panhard. It is also possible to set observation systems and EW (Electronic Warfare) systems onto VBLs, in order to have vehicles fit to carry out border observation missions.
