The
General Headquarters (GHQ) of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces and
Nimr Automotive, a member of Abu Dhabi-based Tawazun group, have signed
a contract which provides for the supply of Nimr
6X6 and Nimr
4X4 armoured vehicles, at a total value of more than AED3bn,
the WAM news agency reported. In February, the GHQ announced in a statement its intention to sign the deal, following successful extensive all-terrain tests for the vehicle in the UAE. "The vehicle exceeded the GHQ's required operational standards in terms of design, performance, mobility and others," the GHQ said in a statement. Nimr Automotive CEO, Dr Fahad Saif Harhara, said the contract coincides with the company's plans to open its new state-of-the-art facilities within Tawazun Industrial Park in Abu Dhabi to cater for increased demand for their Nimr armoured vehicles. |
