Erected in under 3 minutes, UTILIS TM54 tactical expeditionary soft-wall military shelters benefit from an innovative system of deployment. |

The
UTILIS deployable shelter was introduced to the U.S. Army in 2005, began
manufacturing in the U.S. in 2006, and is gaining recognition as an emerging
military shelter due to its incredibly simple but durable design and lightweight
features. Around 10 years ago UTILIS gained recognition through offering a revolutionary shelter innovation : a PVC canvas held inside an aluminum structure that can be set up in a record time of 2min 40s. This innovation, designed in different sizes, quickly met military and civilian needs such as emergency shelters, CBRN decontamination, camps, CBRN collective protection and mobile field hospitals. The TM shelters have been patented and then tested by the most demanding clients around the 5 continents. The TM shelters are composed of an external aluminum frame and a PVC canvas. The canvas is pulled up inside the structure thanks to an efficient system of straps and ropes. The deployment of the TM18, TM36, and TM54 shelters is done in less than 3 minutes with 2, 3 or 4 people respectively. Their structures benefit from an innovative rapid deployment system. Its ease and speed are an important advantage for each of our applications. Neither tools nor energy sources are necessary for the deployment therefore maintenance needs are minimized on field. With the possibility to have one or several front and lateral doors the TM shelters can be connected between each other and to the TL and TXL shelters in H, T, X or I shape. Bootwalls are available for connection of the shelters to vehicles and containers of different sizes. A sunscreen can be easily deployed over the frame in order to reduce severe radiant heat transfer. This sunscreen can be set up in less than 3 minutes without any tools or extra accessories. Additional internal liners such as inner liner or CBRN liner can be easily fitted to the main canvas and remain in the shelter during its storage and transport. With or without this canvas, the deployment time remains the same. It is possible to set up the TM shelters with winds up to 50km/h (31miles/h). Once set up and staked, shelters resist winds at more than 110km/h (68miles/h) and a snow load on the roof exceeding 50kg/m². All the openings of the shelters have been designed to avoid water penetration in the most extreme climate conditions |
