Serbian Defense Company YugoImport unveils its new LAZAR II 8x8 MRAV/MRAP
Multi-Purpose armoured vehicle at DSEI 2013, the International Defense
& Security event in London, United Kingdom. The new LAZAR II is designed
following modern world trends in development of a wheeled armoured vehicles
families intended for carrying out of a number of tactical tasks in different
armed conflicts. |

Special accent is made on vehicle actions in urban conditions, inhabited areas and highly intersected terrains, against enemy extensively using ambushes, anti-tank mines, improvised explosives devices (IED), etc. LAZAR II is also enabling effective engagement of bunkers, armoured fighting vehicles, as well as main battle tanks. The vehicle concept is merging of most important of MRAV (Multi-Role Armoured Vehicle), and MRAP (Mine Resistant Ambush protected Vehicle) armored vehicle concepts, featuring with high all-terrain/all climate conditions mobility, high fire power, high all-round ballistic protection, high AT mines/IED protection as well as possibility of battlefield observation and target engagement by embarked crew personal weapons. Vehicle concept provides these unique combinations of basic characteristics of the two classes of modern wheeled armoured vehicles exceptionally important in the world today. The hull of LAZAR II is fully protected against small arms firing and shell splinters to level 2 and anti-mine protection level 2a/2b, STANAG 4569. The vehicle can be fitted with additional anti-mine protection up to Level 3a/3b. The LAZAR II is armed with 30mm a automatic cannon which has been designed for engagement of ground and aerial targets. A Malyutka anti-tank missile launcher is mounted to the right side of the main armament. |
