Innovation
and Partnership are the main themes as UK companies exhibit a range of
defence and security capabilities at AAD 2014, Africa Aerospace and Defence
Exhibition which takes place in South Africa, from the 17 to 21 September
2014.. This reflects UK companies' strong commitment to Africa. |

UK
companies can offer cutting-edge capabilities across the full spectrum
of Africa's security challenges. The UK delegation to AAD offers particular
strengths in counter-poaching, disaster relief, borders and maritime security. UK companies are looking to investigate innovative industrial partnerships across Africa. AAD is an ideal opportunity for companies from the UK and across Africa to identify areas where they can work together. The UK team is led by Sophie Lane, Regional Director in UKTI's Defence and Security Organisation. Sophie Lane said: "South Africa is an important partner for the UK and we are continuing to deepen and strengthen our defence relationship. We value relationships with a number of countries in Africa in the defence and security sectors. We welcome every opportunity to discuss challenges and issues faced by the UK and to share experience. The world is ever changing and the role of the Armed Forces, Security and Police Forces in securing the safety of our citizens requires an ever increasing breadth of tactics, doctrine and equipment. I am very keen that UK companies look for partners in Africa so that we can continue to share knowledge, understanding and technology that will take our relationship from strength to strength in the future.' |
