Building on the success of the C9 ACERTTM engine in service in many defence wheeled and tracked vehicle applications from 350-450 brake horsepower (bhp), Caterpillar will display its newest high power density engine, the C9 with ACERT technology, capable of delivering up to 600 bhp. It is especially suited for 8x8 wheel vehicles where increased mission requirements demand more power. Caterpillar develops and incorporates a range of in-line transmissions within its portfolio of Cat construction equipment and on–highway trucks. For the first time in Europe, Caterpillar will be exhibiting its CX31 transmission which can be supplied as stand-alone or matched to a high power density Cat engine such as the C9 ACERT or C13 ACERT, typically for 8x8 wheel vehicle applications.
