China’s
military has released images January 22, 2014, of its home-made ballistic
missile. The pictures were taken during test-fired with the Dong Feng

The basic variant DF 21 has a range of 1,770+ km, and a payload of 600 kg. The missile can carry a single 500 kt nuclear warhead, with an estimated CEP (circular error probable) of 300~400 m. Analysis
of commercial satellite imagery reveals that launch units for the road-mobile
DF-21C medium-range ballistic missile now deploy several hundred kilometers
west of Delingha in the western part of central China. Many of the missile technologies used by the Chinese Armed Forces comr frome the former Soviet Union. China has yet to build a three-pronged nuclear capability that could challenge the United States, consisting of strategic bombers, intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs) and submarine-launched ballistic missiles. The
Second Artillery Corps of Chinese Army is also unable to compete against
the US in the number of nuclear warheads it has, the report said, adding
that China would likely lose a full scale nuclear war in less than an
hour. |

Chinese DF-31 ICBM Intercontinental ballistic missile has a maximum range of 11,000 km. |

China
has also developed an intercontinental ballistic missile with a range
of 11,000 km, the DF-31A. The DF-31A is believed to have incorporated many advanced technologies similar to current generation Russian ICBMs, including the use of penetration aids such as decoys or chaff and maneuverable reentry vehicles to complicate enemy's missile warning and defense system. |

The new Chinese-made DF-41 intercontinental ballistic missile should have a maximum range of 14,000 km. |

According
to some Chinese sources, China currently develops a new nuclear solid-fueled
road-mobile intercontinental ballistic missile, the DF-41, which should
have a maximum range of 14,000 km. |
