Iran is now the fourth missile power in the world and plans to develop radar-evading missiles 211214.

He said Iran has increased the range of its missiles in reaction to enemy's possible threats, but it is now "trying to increase the precision of our missiles and their endurance, and (also) make them radar-evading".

General Dehqan further pointed to the ongoing Iran-Group 5+1 (the US, Russia, China, France and Britain plus Germany) talks and the US efforts to include Iran's missile program in the negotiations with the powers, and said, "We are merely negotiating with the G5+1 over the nuclear issue and nothing other than the nuclear issue is and will be on the agenda."

The Iranian defense minister reiterated that the missile program is related to Iran's defense capability and any relevant decision about it can and is only made by Iran.

Radar-evading, is a class of materials used in stealth technology to disguise a vehicle or structure from radar detection.

Iran is continuing development of its ballistic missile and space programs. A new missile launch site 40 km from the city of Shahrud was identified in August 2013. A larger launch complex is assessed to be close to completion at the Imam Khomeini Space Center at Semnan for ballistic missiles and satellite launch vehicles.

Commander of Khatam ol-Anbia Air Defense Base Brigadier General Farzad Esmayeeli stressed his forces' full preparedness to defend Iran's airspace, and said the country's capabilities will be displayed in the upcoming military exercises codenamed 'Mohammad Rasoulallah (PBUH)'.

"Khatam ol-Anbia Air Defense Base will display its ability and capabilities to protect the country's airspace in Mohammad Rasoulallah (PBUH) military drills in an area of 162,000 square kilometers," General Esmayeeli said.

He underlined that a sum of 3,000 military personnel will be involved in the air defense drills and another 10,000 will take charge of the logistic operations.
