of China. The JF-17 can be used for aerial reconnaissance, ground attack

Pakistan is short for "Joint Fighter-17". Meanwhile, Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has said that Pak-Russian relationships are improving, which is happening after many decades. "It is a great progress because China and Russia are big powers of the region and we want good relationships with all the neighboring countries" he said in an official statement. Minister Asif stated this while visiting IDEAS-2014 at Karachi Expo Center on Tuesday. "China is everlasting friend of Pakistan and helping the country in the domain of energy and economy. Pakistan is facing different security challenges and we have been successfully countering such threats. Terrorists groups have one motive which is to destabilize the country," he added. Talking about IDEAS, he said this defence exhibition has played a great role in facilitating and bringing the defence companies around the world on a single platform to showcase their equipment and share the knowledge. "IDEAS-2014 has positively highlighted the country’s image, which is a great achievement," said Asif while visiting different stalls and lauding the efforts of DEPO for organizing such a big event. "Pakistani defence equipment is of high quality with meeting international standard and competing any defence equipment manufactured in parts of the world," he said, adding that Pak-Russian relationship in the field of defence would be enhanced and their high level delegation is participating in IDEAS 2014 that will further strengthen the ties. Meanwhile, Turkey and HIT signed an agreement. |
