Russian defense industry presents BMPT-72 fire support vehicle and Ka-52 helicopter at ADEX 2014. | |||
Russian State Company Rosoboronexport, a company of Rostec Corporation,
is taking part in the First Azerbaijan international defence industry
exhibition ADEX 2014 which takes place from 11 to 13 September in the
Expo Centre of Baku, Azerbaijan. ADEX 2014 is the first demonstration
of modern weapons and vehicles in the state and the Caucasus. Over 150
companies from thirty countries will demonstrate their military products
at this forum. |

"Participation of Rosoboronexport in debut weapons and vehicles exhibitions has become a good tradition, - says Esen Topoev, head of the Rosoboronexport delegation at ADEX 2014. – The exhibition welcomes delegations from all the continents. And it is a great opportunity to demonstrate the best modern Russian weapons, increase the number of the foreign partners, continue strengthening of military and technical cooperation between Russia, Azerbaijan and other countries". The display of Rosoboronexport is located in Pavilion 1 at stand N°1310. Modern Russian aviation, combat vessels and boats, armoured vehicles, rocket and artillery systems, close combat weapons and ammunition, key AD means and some training systems are exhibited in the form of mock-ups, booklets and multimedia presentations. At the static display of the Russian exposition participants and guests of the exhibition will familiarize with a full-scale models of the Ka-52 combat reconnaissance and attack helicopter, the BMPT-72 fire support vehicle and the MSTA-S self-propelled howitzer. During the business program of the exhibition negotiations between the delegation and foreign partners of Rosoboronexport, leading international manufacturers of weapons and military equipment participating in the joint projects with Russia are scheduled. These mutually rewarding projects are implemented both for the benefit of the Russian Armed Forces and security agencies of the third parties. |

The
BMPT-72
also named Terminator 2 is a new Russian-made fire support vehicle, based
on the Terminator 1. The vehicle is based on the Soviet-made main battle
tank T-72.
The BMPT-72 offers new protection and fire power especially in urban operations. The BMPT-72 is able to fight a full range of modern targets as main battle tank, armoured infantry fighting vehicles and other combat vehicles, dismounted infantry, and guided missile combat teams. The BMPT-72 or Terminator 2 is fitted with a new unmanned redesigned fully stabilized electromechanical turret, with lower profile and better protection. The main armament of the BMPT-72 turret consists of two 30mm automatic guns 2A42 and one PKTM 7.62mm coaxial machine gun which can be used against light armoured vehicles and manpower. The guns can fire a wide range of ammunitions as APERS-T (Anti-Personnel ammunitions), HEF-I (High-explosive Fragmentation Incendiary), AP-T (Armour Piercing)., and KE (Kinetic Energy). |

The
Ka-52 Alligator is a next-generation reconnaissance
and combat helicopter designed to destroy tanks, armoured and non-armoured
ground targets, and enemy troops and helicopters both on the front line
and in tactical reserves. The helicopter can operate around the clock
and in all weathers. The Ka-52 can provide target acquisition and designation for helicopter teams and ground troop command and control centres. It can also provide fire support for troop landings, fly routine patrols and escort military convoys. The twin-seat cockpit accommodates two crew members in side-by-side arrangement. The modern glass cockpit is equipped with a head-up-display (HUD), four SMD 66 multifunction displays, helmet-mounted sight display, image intensifiers and a GPS receiver. The helicopter also integrates a FAZOTRON cabin desk radio-locator and navigation and attack system for helicopters (NASH). The starboard side of the fuselage is fitted with a NPPU-80 movable gun mount installed with 2A42 30mm automatic gun. The six wing-mounted external hardpoints can be fitted with anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM), ATAKA missiles with laser guidance system and B8V-20 rocket launchers for 80mm unguided S-8 rockets. |
