Pit-Radwar introduces Hydra Remote-Controlled Anti-Aircraft gun system at MSPO 2014 | |||
Pit-Radwar,
one of the biggest and most important companies in the sector of Poland’s
defence system, unveils its latest innovation in anti-aircraft gun systems.
"Hydra" remote-controlled anti-aircraft system 35-mm gun is
designed for fighting the air targets (aircraft, fixed- and rotary-wing,
manned and unmanned, cruise missiles) flying at very low, low to medium
altitudes. |

With a maximum effective range of 6000 m and a rate of fire of 550 rounds/min, the Hydra system is also capable of destroying lightly armored land and naval surface targets. When coupled with a command and control unit (e.g. UMBRELLA) the Hydra constitutes an air defense battery fire unit. The target
tracking data are received through the command and control vehicle and
worked out autonomously by passive sensors. The sensors are battery-powered
to decrease thermal signature, what allows to operate in stealth operating
mode. |
