Russia is ready to share its army modernization experience with Asian countries.
Countries of the Asia-Pacific region — India, China, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia and Indonesia — are leading partners of Moscow in military technical cooperation, and Russian is ready to share its army modernization experience with them, Deputy Russian Defense Minister Anatoly Antonov told a conference in Colombo.

About 3,000 foreign servicemen study at the Russian Defense Ministry’s educational institutions, and more than half of the students are from Asian countries, including Afghanistan, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, China and Myanmar, he said.

The Russian army in recent years made a breakthrough in its development and mobility and combat readiness improvement. The army has received modern weaponry and equipment. The level of training of soldiers and officers has been considerably improved, Antonov said, adding that Russia’s successes in modernization of its armed forces are recognized around the world.

“We see the interest of countries of South and Southeast Asia in our reforms and are ready to share the experience, the Russian deputy defense minister said.
