Since 2000,about 100 million people have been adversely affected by catastrophic events. And every year during this period, ASEAN has incurred losses of a staggering $4.4 billion on average due to disasters. Moreover, climate change is increasing the severity and frequency of natural disasters across APAC, as it has been stated by Asean Ministers in charge of Disaster Management at the 3rd United Nations World Conference on Disasters Risk Reduction (Japan March 2015).

For Rescue and Aid to populations, both civil services and military units are required and benefit from cross-border collaborations.

With such strong needs in security, governments, urban local administrations, critical businesses and industries will find at APHS exhibition, an overall response to their expectations. For the first time in the region, a whole event is dedicated to Homeland Security. Civil Security, and Natural & Industrial Disasters management.

APHS is the global answer for everyone who wants to prevent-detect-analyze situations, protect populations, deploy Emergency Response units, find immediate solutions and start rebuilding.

Medical issues are obviously a key point of human side of disaster management. Governments, local administrations want to equip and to train in the best way their Emergency Medical Teams so that they be as reactive and effective as possible.

In this purpose, they need to be equipped with the fastest means of transport (by land, air or sea) to deploy and act where the wounded persons are. We experienced through the Nepal earthquake, how it was difficult to reach the very isolated villages. Emergency Medical Teams also needs to identify what kind of damage the population is suffering in order to quickly take charge of injured people and to guide them through medical services. These solutions come often from Health Military Departments, as they are regularly trained to manage injured people in the field. Militaries have dedicated equipment as field hospitals, which fully filled requirements, as we could have observed in Afghanistan and in Haiti after an earthquake.

In addition to medical facilities, APHS will present also all equipment from all over the world needed to meet all aspects of disaster management transmission systems, means of transport, field accommodation, mass catering, water purifier systems, security systems...

APHS will provide a platform for attendees to meet and work together with industry leaders to develop best practice solutions to mitigate disasters and be better prepared.

APHS exhibition will be held from 27 to 30 October 2015 at Marina Bay Sand - Singapore. Tuesday, 27th, will be dedicated to a conference about 'Urban resilience facing major threats and hazards'.
