Doosan DST was chosen in 2009 as the developer of next-generation multiple launch rocket and ammunition transport vehicle systems for the South Korean army. The newly-developed Chun Mu has been presented for the first time in 2014. The system uses Hanwha's 130-mm, 227-mm and 230-mm rockets. A standard 130-mm rocket is 2.4 m long and weights 55 kg. It has a maximum range of 23 km. Extended-range rockets can reach 36 km. Doosan DST's Chun Mu can launch various types of missiles (guided/unguided missiles) and is equipped with unrivaled mobility and protection capabilities. Chun Mu, along with Bi Ho Hybrid, was successfully developed through a company-led R&D scheme, the first in the South Korean defense industry. |
