General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. was awarded a $121,350,000 (€108 million) contract to acquire 19 MQ-1C Gray Eagle unmanned aircraft, 19 SATCOM Air Data Terminals, one lot of initial spares, and one lot of ground support equipment . Estimated completion date is September 30, 2018.

Recently, on Mars 17, General Atomics Aeronautical Systems Inc. was awarded an other $132,660,931 (€125 million) contract to acquire 19 Gray Eagle unmanned aircraft, 19 SATCOM Air Data Terminals, one lot of initial spares, and one lot of ground support equipment . Estimated completion date is May 31, 2017. The General Atomics MQ-1C Gray Eagle is a medium-altitude, long-endurance (MALE) unmanned aircraft system (UAS). It was developed by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems for the United States Army as an upgrade of the General Atomics MQ-1 Predator. Its endurance is about 30hrs and it can fly up to 280 kmh (170 mph). It has four hardpoints for four AGM-114 Hellfire missiles or four GBU-44 Viper Strike. |
