New Command and Control Armored Vehicle unveiled by Ukroboronprom
The Ukrainian Mykolaiv Armored factory presented an updated armored C2 vehicle. The BTR-7DI-02 ‘Svitiaz’ is intended to provide command, control and communication in operational-tactical level. It is based on a BTR-70 platform. Engineers of Mykolayiv Armored factory had already created an ambulance, based on BTR-70. It can get out from battlefield up to to 11 wounded people.

It is equipped with two engines of the company «Iveco», with total capacity of 300 horsepower, and allows to speed up to 120 kilometers per hour. If one of the motors fails, the other can operate autonomously. The blades mounted on the machine allows amphibious capacity. These vehicles have a warranty mileage of 15,000 kilometers, which is very high for military equipment.

With "Svityaz" management system, units will be on the radio, and on such a relatively new means of communication for the army as WiMAX and WiFi. BTR-7DI-02 will also provide video surveillance and video transmission. "Svityaz" for the first time uses a data radio via IP-protocol.
