NIMR, part of the Emirates Defence Industries Company, will begin producing the N35 Multi-Role Protected Vehicle next year.

“The 4x4 and 6x6 variants complement our existing range, allowing NIMR to expand beyond our traditional light-medium weight vehicle category into the more highly protected, higher payload categories. Initial production and trials have already begun with series production scheduled from Q4 2016,” said the NIMR chief executive Fahad Harhara.

The N35 features a “crew citadel” that protects passengers from mine, IED and ballistic threats, according to the brochure of the 4x4 version. It can be used for patrols and as an ambulance as well as for combat.

The hull of the N35 can provide a ballistic protection up to Level 4 STANAG 4569 (14.5×114mm AP / B32 at 200 meters with 911 m/s) and mine protection up to Level 4A/4B (10kg TNT Mine Explosion pressure activated under any wheel).

The N35 is motorized with a Diesel engine developing 450 hp coupled to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The vehicle can carry a total of 9 military personnel including driver and commander. The N35 can run at a maximum road speed of 105 km/h.
