BAE Systems signed a MOU with the Malaysian company Airod at DSA 2016 | |||
On April 20th, AIROD signed an Memorandum Of Understanding with BAE Systems for the covering upgrade of avionic systems on the RMAF Hawk aircraft at DSA 2016.

This upgrade will equip the RMAF Hawk MK108 and MK208 aircraft with the latest technology and ensures the aircraft will meet all future operational requirements.
BAE Systems will undertake the design, manufacture and certification of the aircraft systems and AIROD will be responsible for the integration of the systems onto the aircraft. The program will take 3 years and will be undertaken in Malaysia. AIROD is a Malaysian company providing aircraft maintenance, repairs and overhaul (MRO) services to regional and global customers in the Southeast Asian Region AIROD has been providing the second line maintenance on the RMAF Hawk aircraft ever since its inception into service in 1995. BAE Systems is a global defence and aerospace company and delivers a full range of products, support services and solutions to in the maintenance of Hawk aircraft including the RMAF Hawk MK108 and MK208. This MOU between AIROD and BAE Systems will further strengthen and enhance the collaborative works between the two organizations in the long term maintenance of the aircraft thus ensunng the operational availability and capability of the aircraft for the RMAF The Hawk is the best-selling trainer jet aircraft in the world Hawk exports benefit Malaysia through the manufacture of pylons and demonstrates BAE Systems commitment to Malaysia. |
