Belarus army to receive a fourth battery of Russian-made Tor-M2 air defense missile systems
The Belarus armed forces will be equipped with a fourth battery of Russian-made Tor-M2 short range air defense missile systems for December 2016. Belraus has already received three batteries of Tor-M2 from 2011 to 2013.

Russia has delivered a third battery of Tor-M2 air defense systems to Belarus by the end of 2013. Two Tor-M2 batteries were delivered to Belarus in 2011 and 2012. They have been deployed with the 120th Missile Brigade in western Belarus.
 

The Tor-M2 is an upgraded version of the Tor-M1 short-range air defense missile system. The TOR-M2/M2E is designed by the Russian Defense Company Almaz-Antey. The TOR-M2 was presented for the first time to the public during the Moscow Air Show, MAKS in 2007.

The Tor-M2 is a low- to medium-altitude, short-range surface-to-air missile system designed for intercepting aircraft, cruise missiles, precision-guided munitions, unmanned aerial vehicles and ballistic targets. The TOR-M2 can firing the missile 9M331 and 9M332. The TOR-M2 can engage a target at the range from 1,000 to 12,000 m and to an altitude from 10 to 10,000 m.

The Belarusian minister, who attended an active phase of the Combat Commonwealth 2013 air defense exercise at Russia’s Ashuluk firing range, praised the performance of the Tor-M2, as Belarusian crews operating the system destroyed three simulated targets with four missiles during live-firing drills.
