"Despite strict measures initiated by Russian government to harden access to the State Defense Order (Gosoboronzakaz, GOZ), we can work with Russia by some means or other", Gurulev said. He mentioned joint stock company (JSC) Peleng and JSC Minsk Wheel Tractor Plant (MZKT) as examples of companies, cooperating with Russian defense industry. "MZKT is producing a new family of vehicles for Russian mobile missile systems", he added.
Gurulev pointed out, that "we (Belarus and Russia) have military-technical cooperation agreement and we are following it closely". "SMIC is planning to develop cooperation with Russia (as the main partner), China and several other countries", he confirmed. The Russian-Belorussian military-industrial cooperation has had a positive record for a long period of time. In 1991-2014 Russia supplied to Belarus 4 MiG-29UB (NATO reporting name: Fulcrum-A) fighters, 4 S-300PS (SA-10B) air defense systems and 150 5V55R surface-to-air missiles (SAM), 12 Tor-M1 (SA-15) mobile SAM systems and 300 9M338 missiles to the total tune of USD484 million. |
