The SPEED-ER is a gyro-stabilized, land-based system combining three different observation modes. It features a variety of sensors. These are the cooled IR Thermal Imaging Camera (MWIR) with a continuous optical zoom lens, the SWIR camera with a continuous optical zoom lens, the Wide FOV CCD camera, the extra narrow FOC CCV camera, the laser range finder and the laser pointer for target marking. This range of sensors included in the system makes it unique, as it can provide early detection in ultra-long-range distances. Thanks to the SWIR it provides great visibility in difficult conditions, such as fog, humidity and dust. Given its significant weight and size, the system is ideally installed on fixed or mobile infrastructure, such as buildings, masts, towers etc. For these reasons its use is not only limited to the initial border and coastline protection but it could expand to cover vessel traffic management and air-defence applications. The second system showcased at Eurosatory 2016 is the Twister automatic intruder detection system. It is a high-speed scanning system with a 360-degree coverage. It is based on a cooled infrared camera camera with a continuous optical zoom lens of 165mm, which can detect targets up to the distance of 4 km and 8 km for NATO targets. Weighing 38 kg (11.7 kg is the sensor weight) it can be easily transported everywhere and set up on a tripod, to be operated locally through a PC or remotely through Ethernet or RF communications. |
