The United Instrument-Manufacturing Corporation is a subsidiary of Russia’s state hi-tech corporation Rostec.
"Russia and Egypt may set up a joint venture on the Egyptian territory to produce various types of military hardware, including fifth-generation tactical radio communications systems. This issue was under discussion at an industrial group meeting of the Russian-Egyptian commission on military and technical cooperation," the spokesman said. "In particular, Egypt is interested in producing modern radio stations of the R-168 Akveduk family jointly with Russia. Radio stations of this type have been developed and are being manufactured by Russia’s Sozvezdiye Enterprise," the spokesman added. According to him, Egypt is interested in joint production of several types of mobile radio stations that can be mounted on various vehicles. "Radio stations of this type transmit voice information and other data, allow identifying locations with the use of navigation signals and provide increased protection from wiretapping and jamming," the spokesman said. According to him, radio stations of this type can be used in harsh weather conditions, in wet and sandy areas and during vibrations and strikes. |
