EUROSATORY 2016: MAGAM Introduces a Lightweight Self-Sealing Flexible Fuel Tank

|
Magam Safety – a leading manufacturer of protective, rescue and survivability equipment – introduces a lightweight self-sealing flexible fuel tank. The tanks are capable of withstanding up to 0.5 caliber (12.7 mm) gunshots, and are suited for various applications including helicopters, airplanes, drones, armored vehicles and MBTs.

According to Chairman,Amit Tesler, “In developing these tanks, we use today’s most advanced technologies in order to offer our customers the highest quality tanks that solve the two most acute issues being faced: the problem of weight and the problem of impermeability. The tank we are presenting for the first time at Eurosatory is the only one of its kind that can withstand heavy machine gun fire and at the same time, is lightweight.”
The self-sealing tanks, which are used for the storage and transport of fuel, are able to seal themselves in the event of damage from shots from weapons ranging from light arms to heavy machine guns. Seventy-five percent (75%) lighter than metal tanks, they withstand even the harshest environments and weather conditions, including very high and very low temperatures, shocks, pressure, and water. The company manufactures a variety of tanks which differ in their coating layers. They are customized, with the size dependent on the needs, and the space availability of the applications. |

Chairman Tesler continued, “The fuel tanks that we have been developing and marketing for many years have been successfully embedded by dozens of customers around the world on air, land and sea platforms, and battle-tested for more than 40 years in IDF MBTs.”
