Hendrick Dynamics outfits the Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 4x4 for the military

The Commando is built at Hendrick's North Carolina headquarters and is designed to provide capable, agile transport for mobile military units. The Jeeps are heavily modified for difficult desert terrain and equipped with recovery gear and unique storage racks; some test units also are equipped with robotics.

It may look like a regular Jeep, but this vehicle was built to answer the U.S. Army's call for a new Ground Mobility Vehicle. Working with Hendrick Dynamics, the GMV is built on a Jeep platform and will provide enhanced troop mobility and effectiveness over rugged terrain.

Hendrick Commando is a COTS item, uses JP-8 and all diesel fuels, is validated for cross-country mobility, completed safety evaluation, and is certified for helicopter internal air transport. Hendrick Commando can affordably perform a broad array of missions in diverse terrain. Blending the agility of a side-by-side with the strength of a full-size truck; the combination delivered is unique among US military vehicles. We call this Agile Strength™ for demanding operators.
