The rocket tube arrangement is a single rectangular bank of four layers each with 10 tubes. The old BM-21 has a crew of 5 while the new BM-21 has a crew of 3. All the firing operations can be performed from inside the crew cabin. Standard equipment includes automatic aiming system, navigation system "Tuspal", navigation satellite system (GPS) Glonas and modern communication system with data transfer by wire or radio.
