|
The latest Russian 2S35 Koalitsiya-SV (Coalition-SV) self-propelled gun (SPG) has received unmanned turret with 152mm 2A88 cannon, according to a source in the Russian defense industry. The 2S35 Koalitsiya-SV is a new generation of Russian-made self-propelled tracked howitzer based on the 2S19 chassis fitted with a new turret.

"The 2S35`s crew is located in isolated armoured module. So, we have significantly increased its safety. The crew can easily bail out the vehicle in the emergency case. Koalitsiya-SV is equipped with remote firing control system", the source emphasized.
He pointed out, that the reloading process of 2S35 was fully automatized. "As a result of an unprecedently high level of Koalitsiya-SV automatization, we have reduced the SPG`s crew to three serviceman. All foreign self-propelled guns have crews consisting of at least five servicemen - for example, AS-90 and PzH-2000", the source said. The 2S35 Koalitsiya-SV tracked self-propelled howitzer is equipped with the new 2A88 cannon 152mm which is under development. The 2S35 is able to fire a new generation of 9K25, the 152 mm Krasnopol laser-guided projectile. The turret is also equipped with an automatic loading system Previously, the director general of TSNii Burevestnik (the 2S35`s developer) Georgy Zakamennih said, that the naval modification of Koalitsiya-SV was being developed. |
