The ceremony at Paramount Group to unveil new Mbombe 8 at AAD 2016 Africa Aerospace and Defence Exhibition in Waterkloof Air Force Base,South Africa, Wednesday September 14, 2016.

This is the most important defense exhibition in Africa with more 440 exhibitors from 34 countries. Every two years, the most important defense and security companies from South Africa showcase latest innovations and technologies of military equipment.

South African defence-related industries are those clusters of organisations in the public and private sector, and commercial companies and business units of such organisations, which are directly or indirectly active in the provision of goods and services to security and military forces which are defined as armaments.

It's also a good opportunity for local defense industry to unveil new military products as Denel with a new military truck or Paramount Group with a new 8x8 armoured personnel carrier from its Mbombe family.

Paramount Group is the largest privately-owned defense contractor in South Africa, supplying military hardware and security support to governments and their agencies for peace-keeping, defense and internal security, mostly on the African continent.

Denel is another important manufacturer of defence equipment in South Africa and operates in the military aerospace and landward defence environment.

African countries‚ other than South Africa‚ are also exhibiting their military and defence capabilities and technologies. The African pavilion was inaugurated by the South African Defence minister Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula.
