Over 4,000 pieces of military equipment were supplied to the Russian Armed Forces in 2015.

Over 4,000 pieces of military equipment were supplied to Russian Armed Forces in 2015, according to the President of Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin. Russia has the world’s second most powerful military, according to the annual ranking made by Global Firepower, an analytical website exploring the military power of different countries.

"Generally, the defense industry companies were fulfilling their commitments in line with expectations. Most of military equipment was delivered on a full scale and in time. At year-end 2015, the Armed Forces received over 4,000 pieces of pivotal military equipment", Putin said.

"There are 96 fixed-wing and 81 rotor-wing aircraft, two submarines, 152 surface-to-air missile (SAM) systems, 291 radars more than 400 pieces of artillery and armoured vehicles among the delivered equipment. New items are being intensively used. They undergo trials and operability tests", the President added. Putin emphasized that the state would continue to provide support for defense industry companies.

The President mentioned the existence of financial problems related to the State Defense Order. "Meanwhile, we know one such problem, namely refunding, which is a huge debt receivable of the companies. The problem has yet to be solved", Puitn said.

The President emphasized, that in May 2016 he would conduct next scheduled series of defense meetings with the participance of the commanders of the Russian Armed Forces`s services/branches,the heads of the leading defense industry companies and the chief designers of military equipment.
