This initial order will provide the future officers with a proven, off-the-shelf and technically advanced training system which offers unrivalled interoperability options within NATO and beyond, whilst providing the capacity for long-term system growth. The fully instrumented laser-based TESS capability that will be delivered is drawing on over 35 years of tactical engagement simulation design, delivery and support expertise and a demonstrated track record of delivering on time and on budget, to most countries within NATO. With this system, WSOWL can conduct realistic combat training using small arms and anti-tank weapons laser simulators and evaluate the results of exercises. The live training system from Saab has been developed and continuously modernized with experience from deliveries to more than 20 customer nations. ”We look forward to working closely with the Military Academy of Land Forces to enhance their training flexibility. With this agreement and order for training systems, the WSOWL will have a market-leading live training system that will improve their training capability greatly. We will deliver a modern system that enables a wide range of training scenarios and highest realism”, says Åsa Thegström, head of business unit Training & Simulation within Saab business area Dynamics. Saab will work with the WSOWL to deliver a value for money, off-the-shelf TESS capability that will enhance the army's ability to conduct and subsequently analyse the outcomes of force-on-force exercises. The capability that will be delivered meets current requirements for a long-term, sustainable and field-proven training system. |
