Russian Ministry of Defense (MoD) has issued Rys` (a licensed copy of Italian Iveco LMV-65 (Light Multirole Vehicle) utility armoured car) armoured cars (AC) to the 22th Special Forces (SF) brigade deployed at Rostov-on-Don (Rostov Region). The cars were revealed on May 3 during the 9 May Victory Day Parade rehearsals.

The Rys` cars retained both internal and external layouts of LMV-65. The vehicles were armed with single 7.62mm Kalashnikov PKM machinegun. The gunner has front and side Level 2 NATO STANAG 4569 protection (all-round protection against 7.62mm steel core armour-piercing bullet at 30 m distance).
In early 2013, Deputy Defense Minister Yuri Borisov said that Russian defense industry would produce 358 Rys`/LMV M65 armoured cars under license. He added that the production of the vehicles would be ceased after the implementation of the aforementioned contract.

Rys`/LMV M65 is protected at Level 3 NATO STANA 4569/Level 6 Russian GOST (all-round protection against 7.62mm steel core armour-piercing bullet at 30 m distance). It has a maximum road speed of 130 km/h and a range of 500 km.
