"We are beginning the modernization of T-14 Armata`s nodes and components, as the update will increase the combat effectiveness of the MBT. The UVZ is planning to enhance almost all systems and subsystems of the tank," Sienko said in an interview to the news agency.

According to him, the trials of T-14 Armata are going to the original plan. "We are fully satisfied with the combat vehicle, as well as Russia`s military. The UVZ has already commenced the fire trials of Armata, and the tank has already revealed its high combat capabilities," the director emphasized. He added that the specifications of the vehicle had been confirmed by the tests.

Sienko pointed out that the UVZ Corporation had already started the trials of a new, more effective multifuel diesel engine intended for T-14. "The company should implement the new engine trials program to full degree, including tests in various climatic conditions. We suppose that that the engine will be the organic powerplant of Russia`s armoured vehicles in future," the CEO of Uralvagonzavod pointed out.

Previously, the director said that T-14 Armata MBTs would receive an advanced multifuel diesel engine (1,800 h.p.).

The T-14 Armata was unveiled for the first time to the public during the military parade in Moscow for the Victory Day, May 9, 2015.

The T-14 Armata is equipped with an unmanned turret and all the crew is located at the front of the hull. The new unmanned remote turret of Armata T-14 would be equipped with new generation of 125mm 2A82-1M smoothbore gun with an automatic loader and 32 rounds ready to use.
