"The test program of the United 40 UAV is being implemented at Russian MoD`s Akhtubinsk (Astrakhan Region) flight test center," the source said.
The United 40 medium-altitude, long-endurance (MALE) reconnaissance/combat UAV has been developed by the Adcom company located at Abu Dhabi (UAE). In Summer 2013, Russian MoD was planning to launch the tests of the vehicle, which were scheduled for February 2014. However, the related trials were postponed due to unknown reasons. The United 40 UAV has a tandem biplane configuration. It is powered by twin Rotax piston engines (115 h.p. each). The vehicle has a payload of approximately 100 kg and can carry weapons on four underwing hardpoints or in internal weapon bay within revolving dispenser. The United 40 UAV has a maximum takeoff weight of about 2,000 kg, an endurance of 100 hours and a service ceiling of 8,000 m. |
