The day before the exhibition, Monday, January the 23rd 2017, the ShieldAfrica conference will take place, on the thema: “Africa, towards an integrated approach to protecting our development“. This conference will gather African official delegations invited by Côte d’Ivoire government, the exhibiting manufacturers and many international VIPs.
Africa is facing major changes which will escalate in the coming years. A more and more important urbanisation, which increased from 42% in 2000 to almost 48% in 20152 and estimated at 61.7% in 2050. A strong demographic growth: we count up today 1.2 billion of inhabitants in Africa, they should be 2.8 billion in 20603. And finally the development of a middle-class which acquires a considerable spending power generating new spending habits. These evolutions should be accompanied by a simultaneous development of the general security which will enable the development of the continent to be sustainable. ShieldAfrica places itself as one of the catalyst of the continent economic growth which can happen only with peace, security of people, goods and infrastructures, development of cybersecurity, etc. So, ShieldAfrica will offer a large number of products and technologies, most of them dual Defence and Security, adapted to the needs of all African players. The exhibition answers to the expectations of Security and Defence forces, State agencies in charge of Homeland Security and people protection, to the needs of international organisations, trade companies and companies in charge of Security and surveillance, but also private companies carrying out extreme conditions activities or on unsafe areas. Because urbanisation requires to be locally supported, ShieldAfrica also addresses of local authorities, administrations and mayors of big megalopolis concerns. This is truly the whole public and private sector involved in States security in every sense of the term, that will be present, as well as many Official Delegations. |
