The THERMIS were developed to provide soldiers with a tremendous day/night advantage in detecting, observing and engaging hostile targets, independent of darkness and common obscurants used for visual concealment. The clip on in-line afocal is designed for use in tandem with medium-range day sights to privde the same enhancements, while maintaining the day otpic's ballistic zeroing. The THERMIS family of uncooled thermal weapon sights incorporate the latest IR sensor, electronics and optical technologies to deliver world leading performance and reliability. All three variants generate superior IR imagery, ensuring target recognition at the maximum possible range for increased lethality. The Light Weapon Thermal Sight is suitable for short-range weapons (M16, M4, AK-47 etc.), the Medium Weapon Thermal Sight is designed for medium machine guns (FN Minimi, MG3 etc.) and the Heavy Weapon Thermal Sight for the squad leader's weapon, Sniper Rifles and Heavy Machine guns (M2 HB, MK19 etc.) |
