The FNSS KAPLAN 30 NG-AFV is an highly protected combat vehicle using 6 road wheeled tracked chassis. The vehicle is fitted with a remotely controlled weapon station called TEBER armed with a 30mm automatic cannon. One 7.62mm coaxial machine gun is mounted to the right of the main armament.
The vehicle is able to operate under hot/cold weather conditions at high speed not only on asphalt and stabilized highways, but also on soft soil, or muddy and rough terrain. The KAPLAN 30 NG-AFV hull is manufactured and integrated using a ballistic welding technique. The hull and hatches are water resistant, and lids are water-proofed via seals. While the power pack cabin and the expanded driver area are located in the front of the vehicle, the gunner and the commander areas are located in the middle of the vehicle. The KAPLAN 30 NG-AFV can carry a total of 9 military personnel including driver, commander, gunner and 6 infantrymen. While the power pack cabin and the expanded driver area are located in the front of the vehicle, the gunner and the commander areas are located in the middle of the vehicle. The Kaplan 30 has an average power-to-weight ratio of 20 HP/ton depending on its combat weight and a length of 6.7 m, width of 3.5 m and a height of 2.2 m. |

KAPLAN 30 NG-AFV enables the user to carry more mission equipment and ammunition to the vehicle thanks to the increased useful internal space. Vehicle personnel and equipment layout are designed in order to allow the crew to quickly board and leave the vehicle. K. Nail Kurt, General Manager and CEO of FNSS, says that the KAPLAN-30 represents the peak of the ACV class, noting that: “Behind the KAPLAN-30 lies FNSS’ over 30 years of experience, as well as its operational know-how resulting from thousands of FNSS-made ACVs.
The vehicle we have made is the leader of its class in every way. One of the most important points which makes us proud of the KAPLAN-30 is that we have designed a vehicle that is balanced in all its capabilities, and in which an improvement in any one of its features – such as survivability, mobility, payload and interior volume – has not negatively impacted another. We are fully confident that the KAPLAN-30 will, in the coming period, become one of the significant players of the market.” |
