Russia has tested a new Iskander-M missile in Tajikistan.
Crews of Russian Iskander-M (NATO reporting name: SS-26 Stone) tactical ballistic missile systems have hit a simulated enemy’s training camp with a new missile during an exercise in Tajikistan, Russian Central Military District spokesman Colonel Yaroslav Roshchupkin told TASS.

The exercise is being held by the Collective Rapid Reaction Force of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), he added. "The crews of Iskander-M systems have hit a training camp of simulated militants with an improved missile during the exercise in Tajikistan. The launch from the Lyaur training range was smooth and the ballistic missile hit the target at a distance of more than 130 kilometers [81 miles] at the Kharbmaidon training range located near the Tajik-Afghan border," Roshchupkin said.
"The missile confirmed its improved accuracy and stealth capabilities," he added. According to the spokesman, Orlan unmanned aerial vehicles flying over the assigned area showed that the target had been engaged with a deviation of no more than 10 meters. The tactical episodes of the large-scale counterterrorism exercise are taking place at five training ranges in mountain and desert areas. The exercise will last through November 20. It involves more than 5,000 servicemen from CSTO member-states, including Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan, and over 1,500 items of military hardware. The maneuvers engage more than 60 planes and helicopters for the first time.
