The United States has deployed troops with Stryker 8x8 armoured vehicle and HUMVEE to the northern Syrian city of Manbij to support Kurdish troops in the area. A video footage from RT Ruptly shows the US troops traveling in a convoy on Saturday, February 4, 2017, around the city of Manbij in the Aleppo Governorate, Syria.
The US-led coalition in Syria confirmed the presence of American forces around Manbij on Saturday, after video and pictures were published on RT Ruptly video cahnnel and socila networks. Colonel John Dorrian, spokesman for the Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve, tweeted that the deployment was a “deliberate action” taken to assure that forces within the US-led coalition “deter aggression” and “keep the focus on defeating ISIS” elsewhere. U.S. and coalition military forces continued to attack the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria February 4, 2017, Combined Joint Task Force Operation Inherent Resolve officials reported today. These strikes were conducted as part of Operation Inherent Resolve, the operation to destroy ISIS in Iraq and Syria. The destruction of ISIS targets in Iraq and Syria also further limits the group's ability to project terror and conduct external operations throughout the region and the rest of the world, task force officials said. |
