Eurosatory 2018: HGH Technological Breakthrough for its Spynel Range.

| 2018

HGH Infrared Systems is exhibiting at Eurosatory this week, the leading International Land and Airland Defence and Security Exhibition. The company will launch another big innovation for their 360° thermal sensors SPYNEL : the ''Automatic Tracking in Staring Mode'' feature.

Since the release of SPYNEL-X, the world’s highest definition Infrared Search & Track, HGH has kept on developing innovative technologies for the five SPYNEL models, in order to meet the growing needs in terms of Defence and Security. At Eurosatory 2018, booth 6F370, HGH Infrared Systems will officially launch SPYNEL’s latest innovation: the sensors’ integrated software Cyclope is now able to automatically track a threat in real time in staring mode, without requiring any manual intervention.

SPYNEL sensors continuously rotate in order to provide a 360° panoramic image every second. With this new feature, the sensor stops and stares at the threat : The operator only has to click on a specific target to launch an automatic tracking of the threat, providing a video stream of fifty images per second. The target tracking is entirely automatic, and the staring mode gives a real-time, smooth video.

''This is a major technological breakthrough following the release of the V-LRF option for Spynel. Less and less human intervention is needed regarding the identification phase of a threat. This automation is all the more relevant when it comes to rapidly moving threats, such as UAVs, RHIBS, or the protection of FOBs, for instance.'' said Edouard Campana, Sales Director of HGH Infrared Systems.

This new feature follows the release of SPYNEL’s V-LRF option, competing today for the 2018 Eurosatory Innovation Award. The V-LRF option - providing SPYNEL-X and SPYNEL-S sensors with a Visible Channel and a Laser Range Finder - was awarded the Milipol Innovation Prize when released last November, and was named ''Innovative Product of the Year'' at the Shield Awards in March 2018.
