DSEI 2019: Fantastic opportunity to promote the British defence industry.

The British Minister for Defence Procurement detailed the importance of innovation and equipping the Armed Forces with the best kit and how DSEI is the ideal place to stay “ahead of the game” and build new relationships across the sector. Mr Bebb emphasised the key role that DSEI plays as a platform for collaboration and partnerships, which is particularly critical in the development of innovative technologies integrating artificial intelligence, big data and cyber capabilities.
The British Minister stressed the vital contribution of the defence sector to the UK economy, responsible for 1 in every 200 jobs and £73bn of exports in the last decade alone. The nation’s defence industry is a thriving hub of specialist expertise and ensuring that the world knows about it is vital - this is where “DSEI comes into play”, said Mr Bebb. He added: “DSEI is a fantastic opportunity to bring the world to us. It’s an opportunity to build relationships with UK stakeholders and to partner with others”.
Finally, the British Minister for Defence Procurement reminded the audience of the scale of DSEI, which gathered more then 1600 exhibitors and 35 000 visitors from 70 countries in 2017. He said: “DSEI is always a success and an important event to be supported. I have no doubt DSEI 2019 will be bigger and better”.
Grant Burgham, DSEI Event Director, commented: “The support that the UK government and parliamentary community continues to provide DSEI and the wider defence and security sector is of vital importance. DSEI is proud to be the flagship event for connecting global governments, armed forces, industry thought leaders, and the entire defence and security supply chain. I look forward to developing our partnership with UK parliamentarians over the coming months and welcoming them to DSEI in September 2019”.
