Kalashnikov Group tests electric motorcycle in cold climate.
Russia`s Kalashnikov Group (a subsidiary of the state corporation Rostec) has tested its upgraded electric motorcycle under cold climate conditions, according to the press department of the company. Electric vehicles are intended to be used mainly by special forces for silent approaches and escapes.

"The Kalashnikov Group`s second-generation electrical motorcycle for special units and law enforcement agencies has been tested in the freezing cold at a temperature of some -20C°. The vehicle has successfully passed through the tests," said a spokesperson for the company.
The Kalashnikov Group unveiled its SM-1 electrical motorcycle at the Army 2018 international military-technical forum held in Kubinka, near Moscow, last August. The vehicle was originally intended for the Russian Ministry of Defense. The SM-1 is powered by a water-cooling brushless direct current electric engine, producing a top speed of 90 km/h and a cruising range of some 150 km. The powerpack is coupled a LiIon or LiFePO4 rechargeable battery. The motorcycle is 2.2 m long and 1.3 m high.
