This acquisition, which will represent a considerable increase in the combat power of CFN, follows another contract recently signed between the Brazilian Navy and the United States government, to obtain 12 Oshkosh JLTVs to be delivered from 2022.
Both acquisition contracts also provide for the establishment of maintenance structures, with spare parts, equipment, tools and necessary courses. The acquisition of these new vehicles takes place within the scope of PROADSUMUS, the Subprogram of Means of Marines that is part of the Strategic Navy Program “Construction of the Naval Power Nucleus”.
The PROADSUMUS Subprogram was created to consolidate and expand the operational capabilities of the Maine Corps, guaranteeing it to act as the Naval Force of amphibious and expeditionary character, par excellence, contributing to the other tasks of the Brazilian Naval Power.
