FN Herstal deFNder remote weapon station showcased during IAV in UK.
Belgium-based FN Herstal, one of the world’s leading designers, developers and manufacturers of small caliber weapons and weapon systems, showcases the combat-proven deFNder® Remote Weapon Station at the International Armoured Vehicles Conference in London, UK, from January 20 through to January 23, 2020.
The deFNder® family of Remote Weapon Stations is an example of integrated technologies that meet modern day defense and security challenges. It combines FN Herstal’s long-standing expertise in firearms, intelligent modular architecture and the latest integrated electronics, optronics and software innovations.
The combat-proven deFNder® Medium provides unparalleled performance in:

It can be integrated onto new and in-service mobile or static platforms, including unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), and communicates with existing Battle Management Systems (BMS).
The deFNder® Medium is highly modular, and comes with an extensive range of customer-specific options and accessories to meet today’s operational requirements. It can mount any 7.62mm or .50 cal FN® machine gun, including the exclusive FN® M3R with an exceptionally high rate of fire of 1,100 RPM.
The deFNder® Medium can be equipped with a complete range of optical sensors, gyroscopic stabilization, target tracking, laser range finder, ballistic computer, links and cases collector, smoke grenade launchers and weapon protective cover, all fully qualified by FN Herstal. With the deFNder® Medium, FN Herstal provides an innovation-driven, scalable solution to counter airborne, land and sea threats.
In addition to Remote Weapon Stations, FN Herstal also provides weapon mounted solutions for land applications, such as the recently-qualified FN® LPH (for Light Pintle Head), that can support the FN MINIMI® 5.56, FN MINIMI® 7.62, FN MAG® and FN® M240 machine guns.
