Praktika delivers 40 more Kozak-2 armored vehicles to Ukrainian army.

According to a post on Facebook dated December 11, the Ukranian company Praktika prematurely completed the implementation of the Ukrainian ministry of Defense’s order and handed over more than 40 armored vehicles Kozak-2 to the army. The Kozak-2 is made of components supplied by a dozen Ukrainian companies.

For almost 5 years, Praktika’s armored vehicles have been helping to strengthen the defense capabilities of Ukraine. The Kozak-2 armored vehicle manufactured by Praktika passed a full cycle of state tests and, in March 2017, was adopted by the Ukrainian army. Today, more than 240 Kozak-2 vehicles are in service with units and subdivisions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and law enforcement agencies of the state.

The Kozak-2 is a light multi-role vehicle based on an Iveco Eurocargo chassis with a V-shaped armored hull to protect the crew against anti-personnel mines or other explosives: the V-shape bottom protects the vehicle against an explosion of 3 kg TNT equivalent. It also uses suspended seats. The Kozak-2 can carry a crew of 10 : a driver and a commander with eight deployable personnel. The vehicle is fitted with a turret that can receive up to a 12.7mm machine gun.

The Kozac is available in four variants: patrol vehicle, reconnaissance vehicle, special missions vehicle and mobile command post. B-6 and B-7 armoring protection classes ensures protection against 7.62x51 mm NATO rounds. The Kozak-2 (launched in 2015) offers a protection up to STANAG 4569 Level III, which provides a ballistic protection against 7.62x51mm AP and mineblast explosion of 8 kg TNT under the wheels. The Kozak-2 is motorized with an Iveco diesel engine developing 279 hp. It complies with EURO 4 emission requirements.
