Sweden has ordered 90 Mercedes-Benz G-Class light tactical vehicle to Daimler AG of Germany.
The Försvarets Materielverk (FMV Swedish Military Procurement Agency) of Sweden placed an order of 90 units of German-made Mercedes-Benz G-Class under the existing framework agreement between FMV and Daimler AG.

The Defence Materiel Administration Försvarets Materielverk (FMV) is a Swedish government agency and responsible for the supply of materiel to the Swedish defense organization. The vehicle will be used at Swedish Air-Force bases and facilities all over the country.
The Mercedes-Benz G-class G 300 CDI 6x6 with a crew-cabin has a towing capacity from 2,5 tons to 14 tons on the rear end and a crew of four passengers. The front of the vehicle will be equipped with a removable towing coupling as well. A steel-aluminum flatbed behind the crew-cabin and the roof-rack offer space for the storage of equipment such as snow-chains, fire extinguisher and other GFE (Government furnished equipment) material for maintenance.
As a system supplier, Mercedes-Benz AG will also deliver a so-called “secondary material” package including technical training and further tailor-made documentation. Delivery of the G-Class 300CDI 6x6 vehicles to FMV will be from September 2020 until February 2022.
