The number of delivered vehicles is not disclosed but the attached picture shows at least 5 specialized vehicles. These vehicles were delivered in the framework of the US technical assistance program. These 4x4, 4-door SUVs are fitted with a bullbar, a self-recovery winch, two additional headlights and an extended air intake. More interesting is the kind of protected aerial mounted on the roof that leads to deduct the vehicles benefit from a special communication kit (to be checked). More modifications may have been made but they are not apparent.

Ukraine already received 43 brand new Toyota Land Cruiser 70 vehicles in early 2017. They are currently assigned to various duties with Ukrainian SOF units.

The 70 Series is a family of models produced from 1984 to the present day. It replaced the 25-year-old 40 Series as the off-road workhorse of the Land Cruiser heritage, while the 60 Series (and later the 80, 90, 100, 120, 150 and 200 Series) developed into more comfortable passenger off-road vehicles. Despite major changes in styling and numerous technological updates, the 70 Series was designed to retain the off-road capabilities and durability for which the 40 Series had become known. Dozens of military adaptations, either “official” or not (starting with the famous “technicals”) have been used, mostly on the pick-up truck variant.
