Hirtenberger Defence Europe to deliver new 81mm mortars and ammunition to Dutch army.
The Royal Dutch Army and Marine Corps will receive new 81mm Mortars and a full range of ammunition, to be deliverd by Hirtenberger Defence Europe GmbH (HDE). The contract includes 122 81mm Mortars with sights and the full suit of ammunition, including High Explosive (HE), Illumination visible (ILL VIS) as well as infrared (ILL IR) and Smoke red phosphorus (SMK RP).

The contract is a framework contract that will support the life-cycle-time of the weapon and includes logistical support. The framework contract is running over 10 years can be extended another 10 years. The contract signing ceremony on February 25th 2021 was held in t`Harde, the home of the Dutch Artillery. Commodore Dick Kreiter, representing DMO and the Dutch Forces, HDE`s CEO Carsten Barth and CFO Eva Stein where signing the contract : “We are very happy to deliver and serve the Dutch Armed Forces with the new 81mm System” says Carsten Barth, CEO HDE, “the Dutch Forces are a long lasting customer, who is using our 60mm system already. We will provide the Dutch Forces with the latest mortar technology and will provide support and ammunition delivery for the life-time of the weapon.”
