SOFINS 2021: Argo showcases MIL XT-LF VMTT 8x8 amphibious vehicle.
Argo vehicles are successfully deployed with NATO and other forces around the world. The amphibious capabilities coupled with the high mobility and polyvalence of the MIL XT-LF make it a vehicle easily suitable for a large range of support missions, off-road and under harsh conditions. Ontario Drive & Gear Ltd, the parent company of Argo, is an ISO-certified organization with more than 50 years of experience in the engineering and manufacturing of vehicles adapted to extreme climates.

Argo's MIL XT-LF, as Alain Clavreul, Sales and Military Project Manager of Phenix-Equipment, explains, can be adapted to almost any kind of tactical role like resupply of small army units, armed support (with machine guns), medical evacuation, small mobile command post, etc. To improve its already excellent off-road mobility, the wheels can be fitted with tracks. The vehicle weighs 794 kg (1,750 lbs). It can carry a payload of 680kg (1,500 lbs) on land, or 454kg (1,000 lbs) on water; it can tow an amphibious trailer too. It can accommodate four people. The vehicle is available with a 750cc gasoline engine or a diesel/JP8 compatible, which makes it a vehicle compatible with the "single MoD fuel policy.
A wide range of accessories is available, namely a self-recovery winch (at SOFINS, a Warn able to tow a 2,040 kg/4,500 lbs load), protection bars, machine gun mounts and stretcher brackets,
For what concerns special forces use, besides its easy air transportability and para dropping, a device is under development to cover the air intake/surveillance exhaust grille in view of lowering the heat signature of the vehicle by a surveillance drone, for instance.
